CEDVAL at Hamburg University

Compilation of Experimental Data for Validation of Microscale Dispersion Models
WebSite provided by the Environmental Wind Tunnel Laboratory (EWTL) of the Meteorological Institute

Introduction

CEDVAL is a compilation of mainly wind tunnel datasets that can be used for validation of numerical dispersion models. The primary goal of CEDVAL is to provide validation data at a higher level of quality than most of the data available can provide so far. All data sets within CEDVAL follow a high quality standard in terms of complete documentation of boundary conditions and quality assurance during measurements. The database will be extended step by step by more complex configurations.

The structure of the website has been kept rather simple, so it should be easy to browse the database. A selection table is displayed in which all data are grouped according to their complexity. Clicking on a data set will pass you on to a table were you have direct access to some of the individual files a data set consists of. From there you also can go to the data directory or download the packed data set as a whole to work offline.

The CEDVAL project was sponsored by the German Environmental Agency until from 1996 - 1999 under the contract no. 296 43 831.
